• We've created a Student Experience A-Z guide. This should help answer most questions students ask us about and should be your first stop when looking for information!
• We've replaced the paper versions of the following documents to online Forms: voluntary suspension application; voluntary withdrawal application and voluntary transfer application.

We introduced Spring Graduation Ceremonies in March 2024. The Spring Graduations were introduced specifically for our January intake international students. These students would be unable to attend the summer ceremonies because their visas run out. Spring Graduations allows these students to participate in their graduation ceremonies and will now be a permanent fixture in the University Calendar.

• We've replaced almost 500 of the 600 computers in the Library. The remaining computers have been upgraded with additional memory and new monitors to improve performance.
• We sent out more push notifications detailing changes to Library opening times, and reminders about MFA around vacation times.
• We ran a trial during summer vacation offering room booking slots of up to 6 hours after receiving requests for longer slots in group rooms when the Library is less busy. Library management will now consider whether to offer these extended slots again in future.
• We’ve put chairs at the top of the entrance staircase and next to the self service kiosks to assist those with mobility issues. Our Equality & Diversity Committee is investigating setting up a specific focus group to look at accessibility within the Library building.
• We’ve installed a noticeboard in the main entrance area of the Library to enable events and surveys to be advertised to other students.
• We made changes to subject headings for Children's Literature in the library catalogue to remove any outdated or offensive language; and to find children's fiction about topics including religion, gender, health and wellbeing, neurodiversity, and care experience.
• We've updated some subject headings and classification numbers to improve access to books about topics including immigration and transgender identity.
• We've introduced a new policy for dealing with name changes in the library catalogue, which makes it easier for authors to have their former name or deadname removed from SUPrimo.
• We've changed the storage method for past exam papers from STAX to SharePoint for increased reliability. Students still access past exam papers in the same way, via SUPrimo Library Search.
• We set up a Welcome Hub in the Library from 4 to 7 January, to support students joining us part way through the academic year.
• We opened up inter-library loans to all undergraduate students, rather than it being limited to those in their final year.
• We’ve made improvements to our LibGuides website to make it more user-friendly and accessible.

• We made improvements to the design of StrathApp and prioritised the developments of new features based on student feedback and planning sessions.
• In Financial Systems, we've implemented single sign-on (SSO) on the new student payment system. This means students can now easily sign in with their university credentials, without having to generate a separate one-time passcode as before.
• We continually upgrade essential IT services to ensure a secure and reliable experience for students and staff.

• We've adapted our student comms process and now send a weekly digest throughout term time (3-weekly during the summer period) with all information included in the digest making it a simpler process, with less email traffic to students with all information in one place.
• We introduced a session on dissertations for Accounting and Finance in 3rd year, to better prepare students on the disseration process, prior to progressing to honours year.
• A member of the Administrative and Professional Services undergraduate team has worked closely to support the Accounting & Finance Society. This has been well received by the Society and something that we hope to continue and enhance in future years. This was recognised by SBS management, who awarded the team member involved one of the SBS Teaching & Learning Awards for Student Support and Building a Sense of Community. 

• We've reviewed the schedule of assessment deadlines to avoid clashes between modules.

• We've reviewed all of our undergraduate module handbooks, outlines and feedback approaches to improve consistency across all modules.
• We've revised modules at honours level so that they more closely link to career opportunities and career-specific opportunities.

• We introduced a module choice form for our postgraduate taught students. This provides a clearer process for students to identify elective modules and add them to their curriculum.
• We moved an honours coursework deadline to earlier in the semester, as students said it was too close to the exam diet.
• We've changed deadlines for Masters students essays to more evenly distribute workloads, particularly in semester 2.

• We provided immediate class-wide feedback on a case study to a class of students, so that this can be incorporated in their next case study.
• We've revised the structure of the postgraduate taught programme for students starting in January, so their course ends with a dissertation.

• We've introduced a returners event for exchange students. This helps students reintegrate back into the Faculty and helps us capture feedback from students about their time abroad!

• We reviewed the volume of assessments in the Graduate Apprenticeship course and have now reduced the number of assessments.

• We offered the research methods class in both semester 1 and 2, to help students undertaking dissertations.
