Personal statement

Sara joined the Fraser of Allander Institute as a Research Fellow in November 2025.

Her areas of expertise include macroeconomic analysis and forecasting, economic policy, input-output modelling and computable general equilibrium (CGE) modelling. She uses economic data and quantitative methods to examine how policy decisions and wider economic shocks affect businesses, households, industries and regions.

She has eight years of experience using economic analysis to support policy and business decision-making. Her consulting work has spanned Paraguay, Uruguay and the UK. She has worked with businesses and public-sector organisations to assess the effects of policy changes and economic shocks, estimate their contribution to the wider economy, and measure their economic footprint.

At the Fraser of Allander Institute, she has a central role in the Institute鈥檚 work on CGE modelling. She also works with teams across the UK Government to connect research and modelling outputs with practical policy questions.

Her current research looks at the effects of trade and trade policy on the economy, alongside the regional impacts of wider policy changes. A key part of this work is understanding how these effects differ across sectors, regions and groups.
