Depression and suicide are high in autistic people, who feel stigmatised and discounted. Our project explores how engaging with a neurodivergent artist during emotion-focused creative workshops helps autistic adults to narrate their unheard trauma stories. The image depicts the 鈥榰gliness鈥� (ravens) created by the pain of interpersonal encounters, whose burden (stones) is relieved by the cat (Creating Autistic Trauma Stories), which collects and reimagines the trauma, promoting rejuvenation and healing.
